Gesture & etiquette
Point to the arm or area where the tattoo is (subtly). Slight bow.
Do not insist if politely refused. Some facilities may offer tattoo covers for smaller tattoos, so asking 'タトゥーカバーはありますか？ (Tatū kabā wa arimasu ka? / Do you have tattoo covers?)' might be an alternative.
