I have a small tattoo, would it be alright to bathe?
Romaji: Chiisana tatū ga aru no desu ga, nyūyoku shite mo daijōbu deshō ka? / Reply Romaji: Mōshiwake gozaimasen, tōkan dewa tatū no okyakusama no gonyūyoku wa okotowari shite orimasu. OR Chiisai mono deshitara, bansōkō nado de kakushite itadakereba daijōbu desu.

We apologize, but guests with tattoos are not permitted to bathe at our establishment. OR If it's small, it's fine if you cover it with a bandage, etc.

Slight bow, speak quietly and discreetly to staff at the reception desk.
Be prepared for refusal. Do not attempt to sneak in if refused. Ask discreetly, away from other guests if possible. Respect the establishment's rules.
