Romaji: Sumimasen, tatoo ga aru no desu ga, nyuuyoku wa kanou deshou ka? / Reply Romaji: Tatoo shiiru nado de kakushite itadakereba, go-nyuuyoku itadakemasu. Uketsuke de hanbai mo gozaimasu.

If you cover it with a tattoo seal, etc., you may use the bath. We also sell them at the reception.
Gesture & etiquette
Point to your arm or a general area on your body where the tattoo might be, or simply ask politely.
Never enter an onsen/sento with a visible tattoo if it's prohibited. Always ask staff first.
