It depends on the size, but if you can cover it, it's fine.
Gesture & etiquette
Point to the area where the tattoo is (without exposing it fully if in public).
Do not assume all tattoos are allowed. Be prepared to be denied entry or asked to cover it. Showing the tattoo immediately might be considered rude.
