Romaji: Sumimasen, ichiji machigaete shimatta no desu ga, dō yatte naoseba ii desu ka? / Reply Romaji: Otonari ni ten o utte, sono yoko ni tadashii ji o kakisōete kudasai.

お隣に点を打って、その横に正しい字を書き添えてください。
おとなりにてんをうって、そのよこにただしいじをかきそえてください。
Please put a dot next to it and write the correct character beside it.
Gesture & etiquette
Bow slightly and point gently at the mistaken character with your index finger.
Do not use correction fluid (white-out) or erase with saliva. In traditional sutra copying, there is a formal way to correct mistakes by placing a dot.
