Gesture & etiquette
A slight bow of about 10 degrees is standard in most Japanese offices. Make brief eye contact and speak with moderate energy — too much enthusiasm in the early morning can feel jarring in a typically reserved workplace culture.
「今日もよろしくお願いします」is the standard morning ritual phrase in Japanese offices. The 「も」(also / as well) connects today's working relationship to yesterday's — it is a subtle reaffirmation of the ongoing team bond. Saying only 「おはようございます」without the follow-up can feel slightly cold between close colleagues.
