Gesture & etiquette
Bow at about 20-30 degrees while saying 'shitsureishimasu'; at the door or elevator, a final backward bow as you leave is elegant; don't turn your back completely on the host until you are clearly departing.
それでは' (soredewa = well then) is the standard signal that you're wrapping up, alerting the other person to prepare for your departure; 'しつれいします' (I will be rude / excuse me for leaving) is the formal farewell phrase for leaving someone's office, home, or professional presence.
