Gesture & etiquette
You could subtly point to the tattoo if it's visible, but usually, just asking is enough.
If staff say tattoos are not allowed, respect their rules. Do not try to hide a large tattoo if it's explicitly forbidden. Some places may provide tattoo covering stickers.
