Gesture & etiquette
Use the separate serving chopsticks (not your eating ones) to lift pieces off the grill; place them gently on the other person's plate or a serving dish; smile and gesture toward their plate with an open hand to invite them.
At yakiniku, the attentive guest monitors the grill and serves others before themselves — this is a strong sign of social consideration (気遣い). Always use the dedicated serving chopsticks (取り箸/サービス箸), never your own eating chopsticks, when placing grilled pieces on others' plates.
