Deliver the update standing if it's a standup meeting, sitting if it's a seated meeting. Keep it brief and direct — standups are meant to be 2-3 minutes per person. Have your task list visible on screen or in notes so you can reference specific items. Make eye contact with the team leader as you finish your report.
The compact 'complete / in progress / issue' format is the most efficient and expected structure for Japanese weekly standups. Reporting a 'kadai' (challenge/issue) proactively is valued — Japanese team culture rewards transparency about problems rather than waiting until they escalate. Always have a proposed solution ready for the issue you report: 'Taisaku toshite, OO wo kangaete imasu' (As a solution, I am considering [X]).
