Stand near the doorway, face the senior fully. Small bow (20 degrees) when saying thank you. Smile gently. If they want to walk you to the door, accept graciously — declining can feel dismissive of their hospitality.
Closing a care visit warmly matters as much as the greeting at the start. 'Kyou mo' (today as well) acknowledges continuity. 'Ukagau' is the humble form of 'visit,' showing reverence even for a routine visit. The senior often replies with 'ki o tsukete' (take care) — a small but meaningful exchange that frames you as someone they care about.
