Gesture & etiquette
Raise hand to chest height (not overhead) and make eye contact with the facilitator first. Speak only after they acknowledge you. Lean forward slightly when speaking, then back when finished, signaling you've yielded the floor.
Polite interruption in meetings. 「お話の途中で恐縮ですが」 acknowledges that interrupting is impolite, then 「一点よろしいでしょうか」 (may I raise one point) limits the intrusion. Always raise a hand visibly before speaking. After your point, return the floor with 「失礼しました、お続けください」.
