Gesture & etiquette
Stand together with the new caregiver. Introduce them by name and a brief positive comment: 「田中はベテランの介護福祉士です」. Both bow about 30 degrees on 「よろしくお願いいたします」. Allow brief chat between resident and new caregiver before leaving.
Caregiver handover announcement. Mention end date of current caregiver and start date of new one. Bring the new caregiver to meet the resident at least once before official handover for continuity. Share resident's preferences (favorite tea, sensitive topics) confidentially with new caregiver afterward.
