Gesture & etiquette
Stand and bow at roughly 30 degrees for a business meeting close. If escorting the client to the elevator, wait until the doors close before returning inside — this is considered courteous in Japanese business culture.
Closing meetings with a warm, open invitation for future contact is standard Japanese business etiquette. 「ぜひ」(by all means / definitely) makes the invitation feel genuine rather than formulaic. Follow up this in-person closing with an email recap within 24 hours.
