Gesture & etiquette
On camera — sit centered in frame, eye level with the camera (not below). Look at the lens when speaking, not at your own face on screen. Slight nod when receiving confirmation. Notifications off.
Standard remote-meeting opener for screen-share and audio. The polite 'でしょうか' softens what could otherwise feel like a tech check. Always check at meeting start — Japanese workplace culture finds it disruptive to interrupt mid-meeting with 'I can't hear you.' Better to confirm upfront.
