Gesture & etiquette

Place the omiyage on a shared workspace — kitchen counter or common table — rather than handing it individually to each person. This lets everyone discover it naturally and avoids the awkwardness of distributing gifts one by one. Bring enough for the whole team.

お土産 (omiyage) culture is a cornerstone of Japanese social bonding — bringing back local specialty foods after any trip is expected, not optional. Forgetting to bring omiyage after a trip, especially a business trip, can subtly damage workplace relationships.
