Yeah, you should tie it up so it doesn't get in the tub. It's considered bad manners if your hair gets in the water.

Use a gentle hand motion around your head/hair to indicate pulling it up, then point toward the bath.
Do not let your hair touch the bathwater under any circumstances as it is considered unsanitary.
