Understood. Are there any issues?

Gesture & etiquette

Approach at a convenient moment and have a brief written summary ready. Keep the oral report to under two minutes — save detail for the written version. If the superior asks 'any issues?' respond honestly — this is the moment to surface any concerns before they escalate.

Weekly progress reports are a standard element of Japanese workplace communication. Even when everything is on track, proactively reporting that fact prevents supervisors from wondering. Structure reports clearly: status, this week's accomplishments, next week's plan, any risks or issues.
