Framing a follow-up as '先日お願いした件について' (the matter I asked about the other day) avoids the accusatory tone of 'まだできていないんですか?' (Hasn't it been done yet?). Adding 'お手伝いできることがあればおっしゃってください' (let me know if I can help) further softens the check-in.
