Likewise — I look forward to working with you this year too.
Gesture & etiquette
Bow deeply (30-45 degrees) when greeting superiors with this phrase, especially the first time in the new year. In many Japanese workplaces, the first day back includes a formal greeting ceremony where all staff bow together.
The Japanese New Year workplace greeting has two mandatory parts: 「あけましておめでとうございます」(Happy New Year) and 「よろしくお願いします」(I look forward to your continued support). This pair is the minimum complete greeting — omitting the second part feels abrupt.
