Stand straight, hands at sides (men) or clasped in front (women). Bow 45 degrees at the conclusion of the phrase, hold for 3 seconds. Maintain eye contact briefly before and after the bow. Speak clearly, at a measured pace — first impressions stick.
First-day introductions to a new team should explicitly position yourself as a learner. 'Osewa ni narimasu' (I will be in your care) is forward-looking gratitude.
