Address the team or key colleagues as you arrive. Small bow (20 degrees) at the conclusion. Soft, slightly apologetic but recovering tone. If colleagues express concern, accept their care with brief thanks ('arigatou gozaimasu, mou daijoubu desu').
Returning from sick leave (byouketsu) requires acknowledging the team's coverage. 'Gomeiwaku o okake' (caused trouble) is standard even when illness is unavoidable. Do not over-explain symptoms — colleagues care that you're back, not the details of the flu. If you still feel weak, pace yourself the first day rather than overcompensating with extra work.
