Gesture & etiquette
Approach the colleague at their desk or in the break area. Slight bow (15°), warm tone. Maintain eye contact. If addressing a superior, bow slightly deeper (20°).
Pre-trip greeting given to colleagues and your immediate superior 1-2 days before departure. 'まいります' (humble form of 'go') signals respect. Include the destination so they know where you'll be. Always pair with a handover note for ongoing work — never disappear without a written status update.
