Stand to address the team. Slight bow (20°) at the start. Eye contact across the room. Smile genuinely, not nervously. Take notes during the first week to show engagement.
試用期間 (shiyou-kikan, probationary period) — usually 3-6 months for new hires in Japan. Self-introduction acknowledges this status humbly. '戦力になれる' (become a contributing force) is a common workplace metaphor. Always end with a humble commitment ('頑張ります').
