Tanaka-san, right? Likewise, pleased to meet you.
Gesture & etiquette
Stand at front of team at morning huddle, bow 30 degrees on 「申します」 and again on 「精進いたします」. Speak clearly and not too fast—nerves can make speech rush. Keep speech to 30-60 seconds. Hand out individual greeting to senior team members after the group address.
First-day arrival greeting. 「精進いたします」 (I will devote myself) is a humble pledge of effort. State role and start date precisely. Address the whole team, then individual senior members. Bring small omiyage if from a previous office (transfer case)—a sweet box (15-20 piece) for the team.
