I have tattoos, can I use the bath?
Romaji: Irezumi ga aru no desu ga, nyūyoku dekimasu ka? / Reply Romaji: Mōshiwake gozaimasen. Tōkan de wa irezumi / tatū no aru okyakusama no go-nyūyoku wa o-kotowari shite orimasu.

Gesture & etiquette
Point to arm/body where tattoo is, or slightly reveal. Polite bow.
In some places, small tattoos can be covered with a bandage. Ask 'カバーすれば大丈夫ですか？' (Kabaa sureba daijōbu desu ka? - Is it okay if I cover them?) but be prepared for a 'No.'
