Romaji: Sumimasen, kochira no chōzuya no tsukaikata ga yoku wakaranai no desu ga, oshiete itadakemasu ka? / Reply Romaji: Mazu migite de hishaku o tori, mizu o kunde hidarite o kiyomemasu. Tsugi ni hidarite de hishaku o mochikaete migite o kiyomemasu. Saigo ni hishaku o tatete nokotta mizu de mochite o kiyomete kudasai.

まず右手で柄杓を取り、水を汲んで左手を清めます。次に左手で柄杓を持ち替えて右手を清めます。最後に柄杓を立てて残った水で持ち手を清めてください。
まずみぎてでひしゃくをとり、みずをくんでひだりてをきよめます。つぎにひだりてでひしゃくをもちかえてみぎてをきよめます。さいごにひしゃくをたててのこったみずでもちてをきよめてください。
First, take the ladle with your right hand, scoop water, and purify your left hand. Next, switch the ladle to your left hand and purify your right hand. Finally, stand the ladle upright and cleanse its handle with the remaining water.
