Offer your arm or hand at the senior's eye level, palm facing up. Wait for them to take it rather than grabbing. Walk at their pace, half a step behind so they feel they are leading.

Frame meals and movement as a shared activity ('shall we') rather than an instruction ('please come'). This protects autonomy and avoids the parent-child tone that erodes dignity.
