Check the medication cup visually. If tablets remain, do not scold — gently ask why: 'Kono kusuri wa dou shimashita ka?' (What happened with this one?). Note the interaction in the care record.
Post-medication check-ins catch side effects, swallowing difficulties, or missed doses early. The invitation to report anything unusual ('please let me know if you notice anything') empowers the senior as an active participant in their own health — not a passive recipient of care.
