Gesture & etiquette
Bring the laundry to a comfortable height for them — a table or their lap. Start folding one item yourself as a model, then hand them a piece at their own pace. Praise their contribution: 「上手ですね！」(Well done!) without sounding patronizing.
Involving seniors in simple domestic tasks like folding laundry preserves a sense of purposeful contribution and normalcy. 「一緒に」(together) frames it as shared activity, not a care service being performed on them. Even if their help is minimal, the participation itself is emotionally meaningful.
