Warm, sincere expression. Slight bow (20 degrees) when saying 'osewa ni narimashita.' Eye contact with genuine appreciation. If sharing a final handshake (less traditional but increasingly common), make it firm and held briefly. A small wave or bow when actually parting.
Farewell words for a departing colleague should mix sincere appreciation for past collaboration with forward-looking encouragement. 'Gokatsuyaku' (successful activity) is the standard 'wishing you success' word. 'Osewa ni narimashita' (thank you for taking care of me) acknowledges the receiving side of the past relationship. Often paired with a small farewell gift or final group meal.
