嚥下 (swallowing) is a major safety concern for seniors. The 'let's together' phrasing (~ましょうね) feels collaborative, not commanding. Always position yourself lower than the senior (sit while they sit) — this prevents food entering the airway from a chin-up angle. Stop immediately if they cough; signal to call for help if choking.
