At the reception line, hold the goshugi envelope in both hands at chest height. Slight bow (15-20°), warm smile. Brief eye contact with both bride and groom. Move on smoothly — do not block the line with extended conversation.
Universal celebration phrase used at all Japanese wedding styles (Shinto, Christian, civil). '末永くお幸せに' (lasting happiness) is the most common closing wish. Strict word taboos at weddings: 切る・別れる・終わる・破れる (cut/separate/end/break). Prepare a crisp new 10,000-yen note for the goshugi envelope — never used bills, never 4 or 9 of anything.
