Gesture & etiquette
Hold out a small clean container (not bare hand) for the senior to place the dentures into. Bring fresh cleaner solution. Return them in the same container with water. Never grab — always wait for them to release.
Dentures (入れ歯) require daily cleaning and overnight soaking. 'お預かりして' (humbly hold/take) frames the act as a temporary care gesture, not a removal of personal property. Receive in a clean container, never bare-handed. Always store overnight in water — dry dentures warp. Never use hot water (also warps).
