Smooth the futon/bedding without lifting the senior. Bring the blanket pre-warmed if possible. Tuck around the feet first — that's where they feel cold soonest. Place a hand near (not on) their forehead to check warmth.
Senior thermoregulation is fragile — they feel cold easily and hypothermia risk rises overnight. Always proactively suggest blankets based on weather. The polite 'いかがでしょうか / ましょうか' offers the choice, never imposes. Check toes specifically — they get cold first.
