On phone, sit upright—posture changes voice clarity. Hold receiver close, do not pace around the office. If repeat is still unclear, offer to email: 'メールにて改めてご確認いただけますでしょうか'.
Polite way to ask for repetition without saying 'I couldn't understand you' (which can sound critical of the speaker's pronunciation, especially with non-native English-speakers or those with accents). 「お電話が遠い」 (the phone is far) blames the connection, not the person.
