Hug is increasingly common among younger friends in cities, but a casual wave with smile remains the norm. Watch them walk a few steps before turning away yourself—turning your back immediately can feel cold.
Casual goodbye to a friend. 「また会おうね」 (let's meet again) is warm volitional form—stronger than 「またね」 (see you). Use after a longer hangout when you genuinely want to repeat the experience. The 「ね」 sentence-ending particle adds emotional warmth.
