Gesture & etiquette
On phone: stay calm and even-toned, not annoyed. If they persist, repeat the same phrase verbatim—do not escalate. If they ask for a supervisor, say 「同じ回答になりますので、お手数ですがメールでお願いいたします」. End with 「失礼いたします」.
Polite cold-call rejection. 「あいにくですが」 (unfortunately) softens. 「お受けしておりません」 (we are not accepting) is humble negative form, more graceful than 「断ります」 (we refuse). Do not give specific reasons—it invites counter-arguments. End the call promptly but politely.
