ほお、四国のお遍路とは別の巡礼ですね。

ほお、しこくのおへんろとはべつのじゅんれいですね。

Oh, so it's a different pilgrimage from Shikoku's Ohenro.

Gesture & etiquette

If at a temple, point toward Kannon statue with respectful open palm. Mention famous temples: 「青岸渡寺(和歌山)から始まり、谷汲山(岐阜)で結願です」. Speak with quiet reverence.

「西国三十三所」 is one of Japan's oldest Buddhist pilgrimages (founded 8th century). 33 temples across Kansai-Chubu honoring Kannon (Bodhisattva of Compassion). Number 33 from sutra teaching that Kannon manifests in 33 forms. Modern pilgrims complete in stages (1-2 temples per trip). 御朱印 stamps + special golden seal at 結願 completion. Distinct from Shikoku 88-temple ohenro.
