Gesture & etiquette

Speak to the nurse or doctor at the nursing station if the senior is not in immediate distress. Stay calm but clear in tone. Have the senior's name, room number, and vital signs log ready to hand over.

Relay the senior's own words ('she has been saying') rather than your interpretation — this keeps the medical account accurate and the senior as the primary information source. Mention the duration ('for a while') as doctors use this to assess urgency.
