Hold the medication at eye level and point to it clearly as you name it. Place the water glass alongside the medication as you speak. If the person wears glasses, ensure they have them on before reading any label.
Relaying medication instructions clearly is one of the most important communication tasks in care. Speak slowly and point to the medication while explaining. Confirm understanding by asking 「わかりましたか？」(Did you understand?) and wait for a verbal confirmation before leaving.
