Gesture & etiquette

A 15-20 degree bow at the close of your presentation. After the bow, look up calmly and scan the room with an open, welcoming expression. If no questions come immediately, fill the silence with: 「後ほどでも、お気軽にご連絡ください」(Feel free to contact me later as well).

「ご遠慮なく」(without hesitation) explicitly removes the barrier that Japanese audience members might feel about asking questions in public. In Japanese business culture, questions from the floor can be rare — explicitly inviting them is an important step. Allow silence after this phrase; Japanese audiences may take longer to formulate public questions.
