Gesture & etiquette
After the final sentence, bow at 30 degrees and hold for 2–3 seconds before raising your head. Maintain a composed expression throughout — this signals professionalism and gratitude. Return to your seat or stand calmly by your slides without fidgeting.
「ご清聴ありがとうございました」is the standard and expected closing for Japanese business presentations. The word 清聴 (seichou) specifically means 'attentive, respectful listening' — it acknowledges the audience's engagement, not merely their presence. Omitting this phrase can feel abrupt.
