Gesture & etiquette
Help carry any belongings to the exit. A final, respectful bow at the door acknowledges the significant journey the senior has been through. The send-off is as important as the welcome.
Discharge conversations require both a positive affirmation (「準備が整いました」) and a genuine open-door invitation (「遠慮なくご連絡ください」). Many seniors hesitate to 'bother' medical staff after discharge — explicitly removing that hesitation with 「遠慮なく」can prevent delayed care-seeking.
