Gesture & etiquette
Stand at reception or meeting room. Bow (30°) before extending your card. Both hands hold the card, name facing client, your card slightly lower than theirs in the exchange. Eye contact at end of bow. Sit only when offered.
Standard first-visit sales intro. Order: company name → your name → thanks for time. Bow first, then card exchange — never extend the card with one hand. Mention your company before yourself (group identity precedes individual in Japan). Make eye contact at the end of each bow.
