Gesture & etiquette
Place document flat with stamp area visible. Offer shuniku pad with both hands, open side toward them. Step back slightly so they have space. Wait silently while they stamp—do not rush. Receive document back with both hands, brief bow.
Personal seal (hanko/inkan) request. Japan widely uses hanko on documents. 「ご捺印」 is humble form of 「印を押す」. 「朱肉」 (red ink pad) is required—avoid stamp pad (スタンプ台) which fades. Position document so the printed signature box is accessible. Receive document back with both hands, characters facing recipient.
