Yes, if it's today's ticket, you can change it once for a subsequent train on the same route. Please tell us which train you would like to change to.
Gesture & etiquette
Show your Shinkansen ticket to the staff, then point to it while making a 'change' gesture.
Changes are usually limited to once, for the same day and route. Different rules apply for JR Pass users. Have your desired train time/number ready if possible.
