すみません、お清めの作法を教えていただけますか？水を飲むのか、口をゆすぐだけなのか迷っています。
すみません、おきよめのさほうをおしえていただけますか？みずをのむのか、くちをゆすぐだけなのかまよっています。
Excuse me, could you please tell me the purification etiquette? I'm unsure whether to drink the water or just rinse my mouth.
Romaji: Sumimasen, okiyome no sahō o oshiete itadakemasu ka? Mizu o nomu no ka, kuchi o yusugu dake na no ka mayotte imasu. / Reply Romaji: Kuchi o yusugu dake de, nomu mono de wa gozaimasen. Mazu hidarite, tsugi ni migite o kiyome, saigo ni hidarite ni mizu o uke kuchi o yusuide kudasai.

口をゆすぐだけで、飲むものではございません。まず左手、次に右手を清め、最後に左手に水を受け口をゆすいでください。
くちをゆすぐだけで、のむものではございません。まずひだりて、つぎにみぎてをきよめ、さいごにひだりてにみずをうけくちをゆすいでください。
Just rinse your mouth, it's not for drinking. First, purify your left hand, then your right hand, and finally, receive water in your left hand to rinse your mouth.
Gesture & etiquette
Watch for staff to demonstrate, or imitate their movements. Slight bow.
Do not drink the water from the chozuya. Do not let the ladle touch your mouth. Do not splash water excessively.
