Excuse me, I have a small tattoo, but can I still use the public bath?
Romaji: Sumimasen, chiisana tatū ga aru no desu ga, daiyokujō o riyō dekimasu ka? / Reply Romaji: Mōshiwake gozaimasen, tatū no aru kata no go-riyō wa go-enryo itadaite orimasu. OR Shīru nado de kakushite itadakereba daijōbu desu.

If denied, respect the rules and do not argue. Some places offer private baths (貸切風呂: kashikiri-buro) as an alternative.
