I am a vegetarian, so would it be possible to remove dashi from this dish?
Romaji: Watashi wa saishoku-shugisha nano de, kono ryōri kara dashi o nuku koto wa kanō deshō ka? / Reply Romaji: Mōshiwake gozaimasen, kono ryōri wa dashi ga bēsu ni natte imasu node, nuku koto wa dekimasen. Hoka no dashi o tsukatte inai menyū mo gozaimasu.

We apologize, but dashi is the base of this dish, so we cannot remove it. We do have other menu items that do not use dashi.

Be prepared that some traditional Japanese dishes heavily rely on dashi and may not be modifiable. Politely ask for alternatives. Specify 'Vegetarian' (菜食主義者 - saishoku-shugisha) or 'Vegan' (ヴィーガン - vīgan).
